Who says school can't be fun? In my class, I strive to make learning engaging and new for my students each day. My students use a variety of materials and resources to help ensure that they are successful.
My class is filled with adorable Second graders with a passion for learning and a love for school.
My students come to school ready to learn and often times don't want to leave. My school is a Title I school in West Virginia with limited resources. We have a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My students have a special place in my heart and I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. They want to succeed. They want to please and they want to learn. They just need the means and someone to root for them to know that they can do anything. It is the best feeling in the world, seeing their eyes light up when they finally get something that they have been struggling with.
My Project
Forty years ago, Apple was just a fruit. Twenty years ago, Google was just a funny word. Did you know that over half of the jobs that current second grade students will hold when they graduate high school in 2029 don't even exist yet?
My students will love coding with LEGO Coding Express.
Students already enjoy creating, building, and learning with LEGOs. The addition of Coding Express kits to our makerspace will reinforce math concepts such as pattern recognition and sequence while students learn the important foundations of coding.
Students using LEGO Coding Express will benefit in numerous ways. resource will allow me to teach coding, as well as, develop teamwork, leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills among my students. Thank you for your time and consideration in supporting my students.
