All Aboard the Coding Express!

Help me give my students the tools to begin their coding journey. My students struggle with the fine motor skills required for regular Lego, this Duplo Coding Set will give them access to the curriculum.

My Project

I teach STEM to students with autism and other learning challenges. My students love when I include Lego Education activities in my curriculum. However, many of my students struggle with the fine motor skills required to work with regular sized Lego bricks. They do excel with building with Duplo sized bricks though. This year they have created everything from the letters of their names to castles, playgrounds and even whole villages of community services.

The Coding Express will give my students access to higher level, standard aligned computer science curriculum.

The action bricks are a fantastic physical introduction to programming. Many of my students have a special interest in trains, so this kit will provide an engaging educational opportunity for them. I included the balance tree as this will make an excellent center during our weights and measurement unit.

I am very excited to introduce this coding train set to my students. I think it will be a fantastic addition to my classroom, allowing students to access curriculum utilizing skills they already have.
