As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. In light of this, I am looking to keep things simple and provide students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
"Look what I did!" is one of the phrases heard most in our classroom.
The joy that the children feel when they accomplish something makes every minute of every day worth it.
I would love to be able to provide the students with the opportunity to learn in many ways.
Choice time is the most popular part of our school day. Every day, the same group of children gravitates towards the block area where we store our transportation toys. We have a few trains, but lack the tracks they need to drive on.
Our students love putting things together.
If we were lucky enough to get a new train set, they would likely spend the majority of choice time building different track layouts and driving the trains around.
We would also love the opportunity to receive some books about planes, trains, and automobiles as well. Our students love reading and these books would be a perfect addition to our library.
