This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most children dream of one day exploring the untamed deserts of the Serengeti or sailing the wilds of the Nile, finding adventure in the corners of the world. That is why our interests are drawn to heroes like Sir Edmund Hillary and Neil Armstrong; they were the first to see something the rest of us could only dream of! While most of us will never have grand adventures on that scale, reading about them is accessible to everyone!

Adventure books offer fast-paced storylines that keep easily distracted readers engaged in the plot.

Every good class library needs a healthy offering of adventure books for students to live out their explorer fantasies vicariously via characters to whom they can relate. The adventure books chosen for this project were picked with some of my more attention-challenged students in mind who like reading but who have a harder time remaining focused unless a plot really engages them with fast action and plot twists.
