This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our little TK students are observant, curious, hands-on learners, discovering how our community works, amazed by transportation systems, and eager to try out concepts and emulate what they have observed. They will be delighted and eager to assemble the tracks, ramps, and bridges, join the train cars and launch them on journeys, and utilize the platform of the train table to give them a little sense of autonomy and dignity. Through this play, they will explore scientific concepts of "force and motion," including "push and pull," simple machines like ramps, and gravity. Additionally, these materials create an organic context for students to practice communicating their ideas to each other, to practice concepts of fairness, to practice taking turns, and to practice sharing.

To summarize, the materials in this project would be a greats hands on enhancement of our social studies curriculum, our science curriculum, and our social skill development curriculum.
