Help me give my students access to texts that represent them! I was all my students to feel included, honored for their unique abilities, and feel that they too are integral to our classroom family.
My 5th grade students are in need of books to inspire inclusion, growth mindset, and tolerance.
My room will have students with multiple abilities and I want to honor and highlight all students and their unique journey in life.
With your help I can make that goal a reality. With books that have heroes and heroines with different abilities I can make all my students feel represented, valued, and part of our classroom family. With the Growth Mindset books I can help all students to see the power of YET! Allowing themselves to make mistakes and learn from them.
With your help I can extend our classroom library to make all students feel like anything is achievable if we work though our challenges, learn from mistakes, and focus on the abilities we have not the ones we do not have.
My Project
I have a classroom with students of all abilities and l want them to ALL feel that just because they are different, it doesn't make them any less integral to our classroom family. My students need to have access to books that showcase their special abilities; be it using sign language, having learning challenges, or being on the spectrum.
All students need to feel valued and represented in literature!
You can help me expand my classroom library to reflect the students in my room. We all want and need to see heroes and heroines that are like us. With these books used for whole class read-aloud, in our cozy corner on their own, or even with a buddy. The Growth Mindset books will help us all to see that mistakes are just stepping stones to success! We all need room to grow and make mistakes on our journey to grow and develop. These books will help me highlight others who have found success after many tries.
