My students need 25 books that model positive characteristics, such as respect.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Parsh's classroom raised $299
This project is fully funded
Character education is as important as math and literacy. Maybe teaching character isn't on the agenda of administrators or included in the curriculum of the city, but it is absolutely essential for running a classroom smoothly. Moreover, having good character is essential for life. My 2nd grade students are young enough to embrace it all.
My students may or may not be receiving models of positive character at home. The city that they live in may not always allow them to see how respect can be given and received.
In my classroom, students will be given many opportunities for literacy and learning through literacy. With a variety of texts that include characters who model respect, character education and literacy will go hand in hand. The resources that I need to make this possible are trade books that are recommended for teaching character.
All of the resources that I am requesting are books that have been recommended for teaching students about respect. Your support will make it possible for me to fully empower my students with rich opportunities for learning through literacy.
