Alief Elsik Choir to Perform at Carnegie Hall

My students need help covering a portion of the cost for transportation and lodging so they can perform at Carnegie Hall. These costs are not going to be provided by the Alief ISD district.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Elsik Choir is an award-winning choir from the Alief ISD district. Most of the students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch, and we are a Title I School District.

These students are some of the brightest and most talented of our school.

They have won awards that have superseded many of our other Districts in the surrounding areas. We have won multiple UIL sweepstakes Awards, been acknowledged as Superior winners for multiple contests in the area of Varsity mixed choirs, treble choirs and show choirs.

When these students are not competing, they are performing for multiple community events, giving back to those who are less fortunate. Students have been named District choir winners, region choir winners and Texas All State choir winners.

My Project

The Alief Elsik choir was selected to be the premier choir at the performance of the National Youth Choir in New York City. The premier choir gets the chance to perform a selection of songs by themselves.

Many schools are selected to be a part of the National Youth Choir, but to be selected as the premier choir is a National Honor.

The costs for this opportunity are astronomical and the need for help is great. This project will cover a portion of the transportation and lodging costs. With your help we can get these students to this once-in-a-lifetime performance.
