Our Title I school has taken on a program to increase leadership among our students and help them develop lifelong habits. These habits are designed to make them successful adults who will create a positive difference in our world. My role is to promote technology and teach skills that will not only ensure my students have basic computer skills but help them develop higher interests to make them future leaders in the technology industry.
Students who come into my class every day are excited to find out what I have planned for them.
I try to give them new and engaging activities to keep interest high and make them want to come to class. My class is a new adventure every day, even for me, as I watch the students learn sophisticated digital skills with a smile on their face.
Being a technology coordinator at an elementary school is an awesome job! Not only am I responsible for tech support to the school, I also get to teach technology to the students. Preparing digital kids for our ever-evolving digital world is a responsibility I am so fortunate to have.
Attending the Pathfinders Winter Institute will give me the coding training and the confidence boost to help me give my students a window into the computer science field.
It is my greatest hope that the time I spend with my students teaching them coding, will yield students who are digital savvy with desire to change the world with their new found skills and hope for a bright future in the technology field.
