My learners are encouraged to believe in themselves and maximize their own individual talents. My number one goal is to show each child that he or she is special, unique and loved. When children feel cared for more learning occurs. Each one of my 19 1st graders has a different background and story but they all deserve the best education and opportunities that I can provide for them! Roundtown Elementary is one of three K-3 buildings in Central York School District. With a quarter of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. No matter what obstacles stand in our way we will approach them as a team!
How many learning opportunities can one device supply? The Amazon Echo will help my learners in reading by providing audio books to listen to, and providing background knowledge on topics they may not have previously known about. This device will help in writing by helping them to spell words and provide them with facts on topics they are interested in and include those facts in their informational pieces. In math it can provide them with songs to sing along to. During quiet time the Amazon Echo can provide the classroom with calming music to help the students relax and refocus on learning. With so many uses, I’m excited to introduce my students to Alexa, our new learning tool!
