My Students

Struggling readers often become struggling adults. At my High School we are working to close this gap and empower our students for a brighter future.

Students who are given the tools to be successful today will ultimately be more successful tomorrow.

By encouraging students who have been unsuccessful on other measures to take traditional college readiness tests such as the ACT and SAT, we are not only allowing these students to successfully complete their high school graduation requirement but to prove their preparedness for the world post-graduation.

My Project

Using this tool in class students can remediate any learning gaps regarding Reading and English. Once students have achieved a passing concordant score on the ACT then they can shift their focus from passing a standardized assessment to preparing for college.

Students, who are able to spend time in high school taking courses they are truly interested in, are able to make informed decisions about future career paths.

It is my goal to ensure that as many students exit my school prepared for college and career as possible. Offering a clear plan to be adequately prepared for the ACT is an important component of this goal.
