Alabama Wildlife Safari

My students need to access to tablets and non fiction books to learn more about their state's natural wildlife, their habitat's and Alabama's ecosystem.

My Students

Each morning our Title I students begin their day with a community class meeting and they discuss things that are going well, ways to improve all while in a safe and caring environment. As so as our meetings are over students want to know what are we doing in science?

My students love science and technology.

We are located in rural Alabama and just discovered with have a momma bear and cub living in the woods by our school! We are always on the lookout for this family. I have tried to incorporate technology into our daily schedule, but most of my students do not have access to technology to do this.

My Project

We hope that with access to nonfiction books about Alabama wildlife, and access to the Internet with tablets, students will be able to learn more about our wildlife, their habitats, and ecosystems. We feel it is important to learn about this so it can be protected it for future generations. We hope through using STEM activities this research will become relevant to our students, their families, and our community.

Through your generous donations, my students will read non-fiction books and complete scientific research to understand the relationships of living things and their environments and understand the importance of animal conservation in today's world.

Students would like to create a webpage spotlighting their specific animal using their new tablets. The webpage will include research of habitats, food webs, conservation ideas, the animals size, speed, and longevity as compared to humans. Thank you!
