My Project

I would like to fund a class set of the novel "Al Calpone Does My Shirts," by Gennifer Choldenko. I'm want to use this novel study for our ELA unit about Confronting Challenges, where we explore characters facing challenges.

Al Capone Does My Shirts is perfect for our novel study!

It's a story about confronting challenges like moving, meeting new (and different) people, and trying to solve a very difficult problem. If I can give every student a copy of the novel, we'll be able to have an engaging and successful read along for the next four weeks of our ELA unit.

My students are special in so many ways, but in this instance because they get SO excited about read alongs! Our last unit was a huge success, and I would love to see their love of reading grow even more with this one.
