Airpods as Hearing Aids for Children With Hearing Problems

My Students

The students that I support are special education students in 7th and 8th grade. These students have a variety of needs, such as Moderate disabilities, ADHD/ ADD, low mental disabilities, and emotional support. These students need accommodation and modification to learn on grade level content in pull out and general education classrooms.

Many times my students do not have the opportunities to get all the resources they need.

I have students with hearing problems that could benefit from airpods. AirPods can exploit a "Live Listen" Apple-developed assistive hearing technology.

My Project

By using the iPhone’s microphone as a directional mic, my students will hear the amplified sound through the AirPods. If we had this technology, I could even place the phone next to the student who needs to hear for optimal results while reducing distracting unwanted sounds. I could also use this for children to struggle to focus while I teach.

Hearing Impaired and ADD children could benefit from this Airpods directional mic.

Please help me give these to my children for year to come. Special education children have lots of struggles and this could limit a few of those for many kids.
