This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Students at our Elementary School love art class. They are engaged in art history and art making. Most of my students have not explored clay or sculpture making. I would love for my students to experience the hands-on value of sculpture! Without a kiln, air dry clay is the best material for my students to experiment with sculpture. Air dry clay will allow my students to learn about and create 3-D art. Our classes will explore famous statues and sculptures. We will embark on field trips to see sculptures in real life. Students will exhibit their sculptures around school for our community to enjoy!
