Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our class is comprised of 32 second graders whom are heterogeneously mixed. Students are from various ethnic backgrounds and speak different languages. They are mostly from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They have a strong belief in justice and fairness. I build upon these ideals to create a community of learners. The class rules are built around this and so are the consequences and rewards.
We have a growth mindset philosophy.
This helps each student understand that the hard work and feeling of pride is the greatest reward.
My Project
Copy paper will surely benefit student’s learning by allowing me to make much needed copies for the class. The paper may be used to copy materials for math centers, math homework, math tools, reading strategies, reading skills, vocabulary, grammar, reading centers, guided reading books, writing paper booklets, writing checklists, writing rubrics, science handouts, science observations, and social studies map drawings of various places. I can copy announcements to parents and homework for students. We also use copy paper for many art activities and bulletin boards .
Nearly all students from low‑income households
