Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a high school rich in culture and where everyone brings a lot to the table. My goal is for students and staff to not only learn about, but respect,celebrate and embrace the cultural diversity of its school community. One easy way to do this is through exposure to different cultures’ traditions, customs, and flavors.

For Hispanic Heritage Month, I’d like to have free traditional aguas frescas for students to enjoy a refreshing drink and expose them to traditional hispanic flavors.

We will make horchata and cucumber lemonade with chia seeds. Students will help with the preparation of these drinks so that it can be a learning experience for them as well.

The items on the list are some of the ingredients needed for the preparation of the beverages. We also need cups to serve and table runners for the decor. Thank you for your consideration.
