This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
¿Puedo tomar agua por favor?" I hear this request all day long in my bilingual classroom from thirsty first graders who want to get a drink of water. Do you know what else I hear? "There's another puddle. Someone's water spilled!" and "The drinking fountain is broken, but I splash all over my shirt when I try to drink from the bottle filler spout!" and "I forgot/ lost/ broke/ don't have a water bottle. Can I please have one of yours?"
I am requesting durable, leak-proof water bottles to keep them well hydrated.
I would love to provide a class set of these water bottles to help keep my students hydrated while reducing interruptions throughout the day.
Staying hydrated helps keeps students healthy, and healthy students learn better! Many of my students do not bring a water bottle to school because they do not have one to bring. Bottle filling stations were recently installed at my school making it easy for students to stay hydrated, if only they had a bottle to use.
Funding phase one of this project will give half of my students a water bottle to keep at school! I have specially selected these because they are durable, seal tightly, and are easy to clean. Thank you!
