My Project
During the year, after safety training and certain requirements, our FFA students are given access to our Ag Power and Technology shop which includes welders (stick and MIG), grinders, saws, and much more. This DonorsChoose request is asking for the proper PPE materials students may need but cannot afford: tape measures, safety glasses, and welding helmets.
I believe students in our program should worry less about how they’ll purchase materials to be successful and worry more about how exciting it will be to design/weld their shop projects will be this year.
Students in our school district are at both ends of the financial spectrum, some with means to provide their own materials and most without. I would like this DonorsChoose request to help benefit students that may have a career in Ag Power and Technology, or shop of any kind, where they can come to class without worrying how they’ll pay for things.
Our FFA program is paving the way for future workforce individuals who may not have a path through college or an idea of what they’re doing outside of high school. Teaching them technical trades may help them be successful as an adult after graduation.
