My students need to be able to relax on the carpet without having to worry about picking up germs.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Worley's classroom raised $326

My Students
It located in a rural low economic area. I teach in a Title 1 school where all of our 100 % of the students receive Free Breakfast & Free-Reduced Lunch. There are 500 students in grades K-5 and 300 students in grades 6-8.
Students at our school strive to do their very best!
They love to explore and learn new things especially when they visit the Media Center.
Last year I started implementing centers for the classes to explore as they visited the library. After we complete our lesson for the day, students check out their library books and then they get to visit a center. Most of the centers are exploratory and creative thinking. The puzzle center involves critical thinking for K-2 students.
My Project
The Library is a big part of the school that students come to enjoy reading books and work on projects. Students can enjoy sitting on the carpet to work in project groups and not have to worry about picking up germs from other students. (Sneezing, Coughing, etc). We currently don't have a carpet cleaner at our school. Our school usually has to rent a carpet cleaner during the summer months.
The Library has tile floors but there are 4 extra large carpet rugs that students sit on to enjoy individual activities.
The carpet rugs get vacuumed daily but really need to be carpet cleaned once a month if not more.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
