My Students

Our school is located in a rural low economic area. I teach in a Title I school where all of our students receive free breakfast and free or reduced rate lunch. I am the librarian and serve K-8. There are 500 students in grades K-5 and 300 students in grades 6-8.

Students at our school strive to do their very best!

Due to social distancing I am teaching 4th grade science and social studies.

My Project

My students love to learn the latest news happening around their community and even around the world. The Scholastic News articles will help students stay up to current events. It will also help build up reading skills while learning about events that are happening.

I will use these Scholastic News articles as part of a lesson for students to read about a current event and share their favorite part.

Due to social distancing students are no longer able to share materials so we have to purchase materials for each student which can become very costly.
