Help me give my students classroom globes to understand the world we live in as we study and read about different countries, communities, and cultures.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Greetings! This upcoming 2019-2020 school year will be my second year teaching 8th grade social studies at our magnet middle school located in Durham, NC. Our school is a Title I middle school located in a diverse, under-resourced area. We serve a high need student population. Each of our students are very different when it comes to their backgrounds. However, organization is something that most of our students lack. During the school day, students are given structure to ease transitions. Our school is centered in a large yet disconnected community which makes it very difficult for community support of school programs and initiatives for our students.
My Project
I will use these globes in my classroom during center rotations. These globes will be used as a hands-on tool to help my students as they learn how to explore where they live and where other places in the world are located.
This contribution to my classroom will allow each of my students to gain a deeper and better understanding of the world we live in.
Your donations provide them many opportunities of hands-on learning that will help them sustain and improve the Earth's environment at local, regional, and global scales.
Using this globe in our classroom will make learning fun and enjoyable for my students!
