My students are the greatest. Each of my 48 students come to school excited to learn each and every day. They are willing to try new things and work hard. Each student comes from a very diverse home life. I have 6 students who are learning English as their second language. I have 4 students that have an IEP. The students love to try hands-on experiments in science. They do great partner work in math and try all different methods to be great readers. They work hard to follow directions and deserve to have a wonderful school experience.
My Project
I have recently moved grade levels and do not have books appropriate for the second grade students in my class. I am teaching reading this year and my goal is to excite my students to have a love and passion for reading, but without books, I will not be able to see this goal come to fruition.
I want my students to have fun books that are inclusive, educational, fun, and uplifting.
I have also chosen some games for my students that will foster teamwork, communication, and deeper thinking. I want my students to have opportunities for Social-Emotional learning and build their social skills through play and communication with peers.
