Having flexible seating in our classroom will help students have choices about their physical classroom space and teach them higher-order thinking skills. An uncomfortable student, is a distracted and unproductive student. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused and productive and be their best self. By using the base ten blocks it gives the students a concrete representation of place value and gives them number sense. We can use them in all operations across the mathematics core and in all standards. Currently we do not have enough for all students in our class and this would greatly help each learner!
