My Students

Our school division is in need of major facility upgrades. We have several buildings that are not air conditioned. Many teachers have purchased air conditioning units for their rooms. I am new to the school and do not have the money to buy units on my own. The average room temperature is 85 degrees.

Our school is small and in a rural area.

My particular students are below average academically and feel as though they don't matter sometimes. I would like to show them how much I care about them and create a more comfortable learning environment. They have more than enough to worry about, heat should not be an issue for them.

My Project

By creating a more comfortable learning environment, I hope to reduce the number of distractions preventing my students from focusing. The majority of my students have special needs and heat can trigger issues for them. We can also discuss the electrical stats as a class and how the units work as part of our class.

If it gets too hot, our students might not only be distracted but could get sick.

Creating a safe and comfortable learning environment will mean a better foundation for teaching my students.
