After School Net Sports Need New Equipment

Help me give my students 36 Badminton rackets and a Pickleball net for after-school sports.

My Students

The students at our school are diverse in cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, socio-economic status and abilities. Some speak multiple languages fluently, while others are just beginning to learn English. 30% qualify for SPED services, while others are peer mentors and participate in student leadership groups. We encourage inclusivity, resiliency and kindness.

Our after-school sports emphasize good sportsmanship and team building opportunities.

We encourage all students, regardless of abilities, to participate in our after-school sports and belong to a team. I supervise the gym every day after school for a wide variety of sports, including Volleyball, Badminton, Pickleball, Basketball and Soccer. My goal is to provide a safe place for students to play and enjoy social-emotional learning opportunities while competing in team sports.

My Project

We often have 40 students coming to our after-school sports activities in the gym. We would love to get some additional equipment to offer Badminton and Pickleball to our students. These are some fun, recreational games that many students feel like they can compete equally without an advantage in favor of larger, stronger and faster athletes.

I have noticed many of my PE students who wouldn't often participate, actually enjoy playing these net sports with their peers after school.

This equipment will give greater numbers of students options for non-traditional team-building physical activity.
