This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Last year our school started a school garden. I was able to see my little first graders light up in a way that every teacher loves at the idea of taking care and growing things.

This year I want to be able to bring that same light to other students on our campus.

I will be starting an after school academy garden club. All these materials will make sure that I have enough supplies for a good size group to help the garden grow! We as a school learned so much from our garden last year that I took note at what the students liked and didn't like. These materials are a cumulation of things the students liked and things that I thought would be something new and fun to try and grow. We learned that we needed more flowers around out veggies so that we could have pollinators for the bees to pollinate the vegetables. This year we will be adding flowers to our garden, we are so excited.
