This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is made up of a very diverse population. As a Title 1 school, many of the children that I have worked with face hardships at a very young age. After 3 years of teaching, I have seen the hunger that all of my students have for learning despite these hardships. They always strive to learn with what they have and that's what makes every single one of them very special! Their passion for learning is restless and admirable. For that, they deserve to have all the materials they need to empower their minds through their education.
My Project
After Covid, things have been rough in the classroom. By students having to learn from home, they have lost social and emotional skills to be successful in a classroom. These materials will help my students go back to simple social and emotional learning skills that will make them thrive in the classroom, and wherever they go. These materials will benefit my students and their peers, it will make learning fun and engaging to learn behaviors that were lost during the pandemic. My students will be excited to use these materials to promote Nevada Academic Content standards and fulfill COVID-related learning.
