Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a wonderful school that serves a community of students that is representative of the many parts of Los Angeles. We are a magnet school with 90%+ of the students being transported by bus each day. We are over 80% Title I students. We are a PHABO, (Predominantly Hispanic, Asian, Black, Other) School.

We have a science focus, and the students love to watch and track the progress of their growing plants.

All of the students in every grade spend time in my class, nine 80 minute lessons. This project will reach every student at my school.

My Project

The Aerogarden grow system is a fantastic indoor hydroponic grow system. Currently, I have fluorescent indoor lights with no hydroponic system. The Aerogarden will improve the quality of the growing that I am able to do in lab. I hope to accumulate many of them and set up an indoor growing room at some point down the road.

The Aerogarden is very easy to use, and the results are fantastic!

Please help my students by donating to this project. It will definitely help our ability to grow plants in our classroom. It will also hopefully be part of a larger indoor growing room at some point down the line.
