This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are enthusiastic readers. My students love to read Amelia Bedelia books because they are kid friendly and entertaining. I have only a few and would like to provide them with many more.

Constructing literacy has always been a priority in my classroom, therefore providing books at different levels of reading with an enormous array of figure of speech, like metaphor, simile, and metonymy will ensure a year of vocabulary and fluency growth.

These features grow readers and our kids will enjoy the process.

The stories follow Amelia Bedelia, a maid who repeatedly misunderstands various commands of her employer by taking figures of speech and various terminology literally, causing her to perform incorrect actions with a comical effect.
