This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My fourth-grade students are curious, imaginative, and eager to explore new worlds through reading. We have been using creative and engaging tools to build language skills, comprehension, and a love for literature. Recently, we began a novel study of The Wild Robot, and the students have become fully immersed in the story. They’ve even started using magnetic blocks to build the setting and characters from the book!
As we move forward, I want to keep their excitement alive by providing them with the sequels to this beloved story.
With your help, my students will continue to engage deeply with literature, enhancing their critical thinking and creativity.
With these books, my students can continue their journey with the characters they have grown to love, while also exploring new settings, challenges, and themes. Having access to the complete series will allow them to deepen their comprehension and extend their reading experience beyond the first novel.
These books will be used in both independent reading and as part of a class-wide novel study. Students will be encouraged to use critical thinking to compare and contrast themes across the books, predict outcomes, and reflect on the lessons learned by the robot character, Roz.
