My Project
After COVID-19 and the lack of in-person learning opportunities, I have noticed a significant decrease of reading and comprehension skills in my students. Having class sets of these books will help my students follow along as one of their classmates or I reads aloud. As my students follow along in their own book, they notice grammar and punctuation usage, as well as helping with their own reading fluency. Reading books as a class gives us the opportunity to discuss topics in the book together, promoting classroom discussion and dissension. This helps my students interact and listen to each other's feelings and ideas like no other forms of communication could do during the COVID-19 pandemic.
