My students need an organized classroom library to store the books that will take them on adventures throughout the year. My students need Help-Yourself Book Boxes.
One of the greatest aspects of teaching is learning from others. I am very lucky to teach a very diverse classroom of children. These children are from different countries, have different backgrounds and all bring different experiences to our classroom. One of the things that all of my children have in common is that they love learning!
Our school consists of about three hundred students and contains grades K-5.
We are a close knit community of teachers and learners and love to work with each other.
I call my students my children because over the course of a year, I come to care, not only about their learning, but for their well-being. My students are risk takers and enjoy trying out the latest technology ...or Magic Tree House Book!
My Project
Like many teachers I have an obsession finding new and interesting books for my students. 25 students bring 25 different interests. As a second grade teacher I try to have as many genres as I can. This means that my classroom library is overloaded!
I want to instill in my students the love of reading.
Classroom reality is that there is limited time to choose books and I'd rather have my students reading them trying to find a book on the shelf.
These bins will finally allow me to organize the hundreds of books I have collected over the years. I have used dollar store bins in the past but they break and fall apart quickly. These quality bins from Lakeshore will last my entire teaching career!
