Help me give my students copies of "The Lightning Thief" in both English and Spanish.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Junkin's classroom raised $201

My Students
My school is Title I school that serves about 400 students in grades 6-8. Over half of the students in the school receive free or reduced-price lunch. Despite the students' home lives, they still work hard to overcome and excel in their school work.
My favorite thing about my students is that they are not afraid to let their personalities shine.
My students do not let their circumstances affect their ability to learn. Students put forth all their effort into each assignment they are given. I would use this project to help students find a book that is relevant to their circumstances.
My Project
I teach one hundred and thirty-four students, but they all have one thing in common: they love action! My students love to read anything that involves action and adventure, and I want to cater to their interests. "The Lightning Thief" by Rick Riordan has all of this and then some. I know my students will love this book!
By choosing stories that capture my students' attention, they do not realize that they are learning; they only notice the excitement from the text!
While reading "The Lightning Thief" with my students, their love for reading will grow. I want to use this book to help develop my students' reading abilities.
As a result of having both English and Spanish speaking students, I am asking for copies in both languages. By doing this, this will minimize the language barrier in my classroom.
