Technology use in the classroom has steadily increased, but we are still living and learning in the 20th century with a lack of technology in our classroom.
My students are from a low-income neighborhood in the state of Nevada.
My students are all students with autism and they are absolutely wonderful and make me truly enjoy coming to work each and everyday in order to see the tremendous progress that they make daily. A few of my students are non-verbal and use communication devices that are large, heavy, and awkward to transport with them.
My Project
My students have an intrinsic motivation to learn and I feel that with technology in my classroom, I can take their motivation to learn and help them to far surpass the goals that I have set for them this year. The tablet devices that I am asking for will not only help my non-verbal students with a lightweight device for them to carry around, but my verbal students will also benefit from all the awesome applications that are offered on tablet devices these days. My students have shown a tremendous interest in technology and I would like to use that motivation to my advantage. The tablet devices would make it possible for me to do this.
The tablet devices will allow my non-verbal students to have access to a communication device that they can use to make their wants and needs known which will in turn make their overall daily living so much easier. All of my students will benefit from the devices because they will have access to technology in our classroom.
Your donations will truly help my students to access technology in our classroom.
Technology is the future and it is my hope that I will be able to keep up with the increase in technology use and provide my students with the opportunity to increase their learning through the use of technology.
