My students need a grade level class trip to the Children's Museum to enjoy viewing the "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs". All second grade students would attend this field trip. Requested are tickets and transportation.
Every year, our fourth graders study Egypt and King Tut. After the study, every fourth grade student creates their own artifact for the tomb which is located in the art room. Every student in the school visits the tomb. After visiting our tomb each year, all students have much knowledge about King Tut, and are very excited when it is October. This year's tomb had over 130 student-created artifacts. When the school tours our tomb, the lights are out in the art room, they use flashlights and along with the artifacts, they find a life-sized mummy and glitter and jewels. It is an awesome experience.
Our Children's Museum is having a special exhibit called "Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs". It is only on display in 4 cities worldwide. If our second grade students could visit this exhibit, it would become a life experience for them to remember.
We are asking for DonorsChoose.org to purchase the tickets and transportation for our students and staff to view this wonderful exhibit. On display will be 50 authentic pieces of art form King Tut's tomb. Also on display, there will be over a hundred and fifty artifacts for other kings and queens of Egypt. The museum is creating a permanent exhibit on everyday modern life in Egypt. It will be a chance for our students to explore a ancient and modern culture in depth.
After the field trip, we are planning a school-wide display created by all of our students. This display will fill the halls of our school and we will also have the fourth grade tomb. After our filed trip, the students will be well-informed and excited about their projects. The field trip will be a once in a lifetime experience...who can say when this opportunity will ever come around again?
