it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the school librarian, one of my biggest goals is to help our students develop a love for reading by giving them access to engaging and meaningful books. This DonorsChoose project will help bring the 2025–2026 Texas Bluebonnet Award books to life for my students. These carefully selected titles—like Invisible Isabel, Dogtown, and Pedro's Yo-Yos—offer powerful stories that reflect diverse voices, spark curiosity, and inspire critical thinking.
By adding these books to our library, I can support their reading goals and guide them in exploring stories that matter to them.
I’m also requesting sturdy black cardboard magazine holders to keep our library organized and reader-friendly. These will help display the Bluebonnet books in a special spotlight section so students can easily find and explore them. When books are easy to access, kids are more likely to pick them up and dive into reading.
My students are creative, curious, and full of questions. To celebrate their progress, I’m also asking for blue holographic star stickers, so each time they finish a Bluebonnet book, they can proudly add a star to our library chart. We can make this reading journey exciting, meaningful, and unforgettable with your support.
