Calling book lovers and avid readers of all ages! Have you ever wondered what the benefits of reading are aside from leisure and education? From learning new words to maintaining your mental health, books can do it all!
Reading has been shown to increase academic knowledge and improve student performance across all content areas, specifically in comprehension and vocabulary skills.
Outside of academic performance and growth, students who have access to books develop a more positive outlook on reading and learning. Books can broaden other students' understanding and help them discover different experiences from their own. Developing different outlooks and perspectives is imperative to initiating discussion in students as well. Please help me incorporate books into my classroom library so my students can develop and nourish their imaginations by expanding their worlds.
