Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in Korea Town in Los Angeles, California. My school offers three language programs which parents can choose from. We offer English only, Korean Bilingual and Spanish Dual Language. I teach English only 3rd grade class.
Students are bright and have great potential, but many of them have limited access to many great resources.
Many of my students are English Learners who need quality books to develop a love of reading so they can be lifelong learners. I hope to maximize my students' potential and believe that we can only do it when we are working together.
My Project
Thank you for your generous donations! My students are currently walking into a classroom without a classroom library. 75% of the students are English Learners who need continuous practice in reading.
Building a classroom library will help my students to become lifelong readers and learners by developing necessary reading habits.
Students will be exposed to a reading environment, learn how to choose a good book, and learn how to love reading.
