We are a nature based preschool in need of outdoor play structures.
The current outdoor structures have rotted and are in need of repair. We use our outdoor space as a place to play but also to learn. We take our math and literacy lessons outside to provide for hands on experiences. The materials requested will transform our science curriculum and provide for hands on learning. This donation will be the stepping stone we need to create a space for the students to enjoy for years to come.
Our goal for this project is to transform our current nature playground into a space that will last for many years. It will be a space for discovery, exploration, and learning. We currently have few resources at our disposal, for example a mud kitchen and utensils. Our vision include interactive gardens and loose parts to build upon the student's imaginations.
Our students have to privilege to be outdoors for majority of the school year. We use nature to inform our instruction. We are unique in the ability to provide natural experiences to evoke wonder and inquiry. Our team is new to nature based learning. We are eager to learn more and provide the best play/learning experiences for our students!
