My Students

I am the very fortunate individual who gets to teach forty-five, smart, inquisitive fifth graders. They are full of questions about life and history and are always searching for more information. We use technology as often as we can, and when we have enough devices for them to use it is a game changer.

My dream is to have a laptop station where kids can rotate around to as part of their daily schedule.

This will open so many doors for them as they will be able to spend quality time on a device instead of having two students on one device or a device every two or three days.

My Project

This project will allow my students to work in stations everyday. My goal is to have enough Chromebooks for them to all spend at least 30 minutes a day doing a reading program that will improve their fluency and comprehension. “Reading Plus” is a new program that combines high-interest stories with cutting edge technology to show students how to improve not only their oral-reading fluency but also their silent-reading fluency. This is the kind of reading they will be doing for the rest of their lives. I will be using “Reading Plus” as a rotation everyday. Before, each student could only get in “Reading Plus” only 2-3 tines a week.
