This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am only asking for three items this time. I am asking mostly for items for me to help my students. Our new Literacy Series is all black and white on whitish paper. This makes it difficult for me to find anything without doing a lot of close reading. I want to add color to the different sections of the different books so I can see purple and know that's the spelling section or green to show the vocabulary section, etc. This will make transitions from the literacy areas go much more smoothly!
I am also asking for a printer cartridge (for a printer I had to purchase myself for my classroom).
The school does not provide these supplies for individual classrooms. The copy machines in the school's copy room do not always print the quantity asked. I can't tell you how many times I have passed out copies to my students and found I was one or two short. The printer, and of course ink, are absolute necessities in the classroom.
Lastly, I am asking for dry-erase markers. The school only has a few colors and I like to separate my writing on the board by color to better guide struggling readers.
