This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher-librarian at a Title I school. The school has grown incredibly over the years. Our dedicated teachers work hand-in-hand with our large student population. We are committed to student success. Our students are hard working, engaged with the teacher, plugged into the learning environment, and motivated to learn.

Last year our students excelled on their state reading test, demonstrating their industrious work ethic.

We are proud of our school and our students and look forward to what the future brings.

My Project

Upper level teachers have requested dictionaries for their classroom projects. Our library carries My First Dictionary and Children's Dictionary but neither of these meet the vocabulary needs of the advanced level readers. Our students would benefit from more Intermediate Dictionaries.

Our advanced level readers need access to higher vocabulary words found in an Intermediate Dictionary.

A class set allows each student to work at their own pace with their reading material. Consistent access to higher vocabulary enriches their personal vocabulary bank.

Thank you for your help in supplementing our reference sources. Our student's achievement is a high priority for our school.
