My students are gifted, vibrant, and enthusiastic, but many of them face unimaginable challenges in their lives outside of school. Despite these difficulties, they choose to attend a school with a longer school day, a rigorous curriculum, and high expectations.
Our goal every day is to redefine possible and to do whatever it takes to ensure students are ready for college.
For the majority of my students, they will be the first in their families to go to college, and it is my job to ensure they will be prepared for everything they will encounter.
As they prepare to go to college, my seniors will be engaging in an in-depth analysis of an author of their choosing. Students will be required to read and learn about both the authors themselves and the works that made them famous.
My goal is for students to examine the works of a diverse set of authors in a deep, meaningful way.
Many of my students do not have easy access to bookstores or even a library. Consequently, I want to be able to provide my students with a class set of texts that will help them participate in this project without the stress of having to find and purchase the books on their own.
