Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students at Arcadia love learning, but many struggle with reading due to language issues. Our school is a Title One school and over half of our students are served through our English as a Second Language program.

Adopting a reading buddy will allow students to practice reading at home!

Students who are self-conscious about reading aloud can read to their new pet, which will increase their oral language abilities. Our first and second graders will be proud owners of their adopted dog/cat, and receive a certificate of adoption, bag of treats, and a traveling box for their new companion.
