Many of my students come from low income housing and homes where English is not their first language. My class serves many students whose first language is not English, students with ADHD, 504s, and students who may not have the full support at home. The typical student in my class may read two grades below their grade level, but they are determined to succeed. Our district has had some hard times, but through it all, our school has high spirits.
There is nothing worse than being too big to sit behind your desk! You wouldn't believe how tall the students are these days! Last year, I bought two adjustable desks for the tall students in my classroom. This year, I would like to add two more desks to my classroom, as last year, I could see that I didn't have enough adjustable desks to accommodate my students.
These desks are great as there are several heights that can be adjusted to fit the needs of my taller students.
The other attraction to these desks besides the convenience of adjusting the desk height is the inside of the desks is black! To those of you who remember sitting at one of these desks, you will remember the graffiti in the desk. Well, no more with these desks, as they are black! Win for the teacher who has to clean out the markings that are left behind!
