This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the Counselor for the most amazing, precious, hard-working Elementary students in all of Northern Nevada! In order to help them be successful at school AND at home, my colleagues and I are always looking for ways that we can help families support their students. This may come in the form of food, utility assistance, mental health resources, clothing, and hygiene supplies to name a few. We realize that families may be reluctant to come into the office and ask for help, and though we try to reach them electronically, we would love a way to display resources for them - in English and in Spanish!

Another way we try to improve student outcomes is by incentivizing their attendance, so we are always looking for small prizes to give out!

I have the best creative team that comes up with great ideas for addressing attendance, and I would love to be able to contribute to the prizes that students get!

This is my first year in this amazing school district and at this amazing school - I want to help as many families and students as possible! Thank you for your consideration!
