This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are creative, talented, and love participating in the arts! As a newer performing arts elementary school, we have sought to provide opportunities for our students to participate in amazing experiences. Without our school programs, many of our students would not have the exposure and accessibility to the arts.
Through our school's arts programming we have created a sense of community and provided creative outlets for students to express themselves.
Our students LOVE performing on stage and the growth in their confidence and abilities has become evident through consistent participation in the arts!
My Project
Our students have been doing an amazing job rehearsing and preparing for our upcoming performance of Aladdin! We are grateful for all the support we have received so far. The contributions from community members, school staff, and supporters of the arts have helped us to purchase amazing costumes and props for our students.
We are currently in need of some additional costumes and materials to finalize our preparations for the big show!
These remaining requests will help ensure we have the necessary costume items for all of the performers and the ability to properly store and organize the items on show day. In addition, all of the items for our current production have the ability to be re-used for future performances! This will help with the overall sustainability and growth of our programming.
