This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are expected to be technologically literate by 3rd grade, but we don't even have 1 computer in our class!

I teach 2nd grade at a public elementary school with over 1,000 students!

My students face immense challenges outside of school that they can't control. What they CAN control is their learning and how they will succeed through hard work and determination. I KNOW my students will be successful because I truly believe in all of them.

My Project

The computer will be used on a daily basis by students. This is not for the teacher and solely for them! We have a math program that my school purchased for students to use in our school computer lab for 30 minutes a week, but that's not enough time to make a significant difference in their understanding of math concepts. Also, my students need to learn how to surf the web for our science and history research projects. They need to learn how to type and use Word. They just need MORE exposure to computers period. We desperately need technology in our classroom and with the new laptop, I hope to give more students access to technology. A major part of our world now is being computer savvy, and I'm hoping to help my kids earn that title one computer at a time.

By donating to my project, you will help 24 students every year get more access to the computer programs that will help them become more computer literate in this technological world.

You will make a tremendous difference as my students get the computer access they need to improve their reading, writing, and math skills starting with our first computer in our class. It has to start somewhere, so please be a part of this dream.
