Adding Technology Into Our Pre-K Classroom

My students need music and technology integrated into classroom and curriculum. We need an iPod to create seamless themed playlists for circle time and a speaker that can be heard throughout the class room.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is comprised of pre-kindergarten students from across the parish, not confined to a particular zone. For many of our children, this is their first school experience. The ages range from soon to be four year-olds to five year-olds. The students are eager to come to school everyday and to see what it is all about. We welcome them with open arms and nurture and encourage their growth throughout the school year. It is amazing to watch each child grow in their own special way!

My Project

We move rather quickly in pre-kindergarten, and our old technology can't keep up. We've requested a light cube that we can use across the curriculum from science to blocks. Here we will be able to look at x-rays and even do some color mixing. We have also asked for some items to make us more tech savvy.

Our students are learning through play, and its time to tech it up a notch!

With your help, our students will improve how they use technology and learn something new.

Adding a newer iPod and speaker will enhance our day to day routine and transitions. Students will also be able to use the iPod for video recording. One of our goals is to incorporate digital storytelling. We are also in need of a new computer and peripherals

to make them more user friendly for little hands. We want to document and share our activities with our school family and our home families, while learning and making our classroom run more efficiently, with technology. These materials allow us to integrate technology into science, math, computer, and listening centers in our classroom.
